I checked out the Mr. Show video. Funny, but outdated. Matumbo is today. Rob Pearlstein’s work made me scream with laughter, and everyone wants a Mom like J. Robin Miller! I checked out the Mr. Show video. Funny, but outdated. Matumbo is today. Rob Pearlstein’s work made me scream with laughter, and everyone wants a Mom like J. Robin Miller! A kid like Anthony Anderson…not so much. As a writer, I know it can seem insulting when your work is compared to other work, but great comedic minds often come up with similar plots. It’s not about the plot. It’s about how the plot is developed and the story is told. Matumbo works because it was well written, well cast and well acted. Keep this sort of work coming, Rob, Robin, and Anthony! I’d love to see this as a TV series where Mom & Dad Goldberg keep adopting dysfunctional adults and send them back out into the world, better for having been adopted and loved in spite of their shortcomings.
