The Caption Contest

Hello Captioneers.

Tis I, the dude who reads all your captions every day. I just wanted to take an opportunity to clarify some things and open the floor for suggestions on how to improve the Caption Contest. Here are some clarifications:

- We give out one t-shirt (or hat) a week to the caption contest winner who we feel had the best/most original caption for that week. We will soon have a list of these winners on the Caption Contest page, so everyone will be able to keep track. Makeitdrizzle was last week’s winner, WarpedCorp won the week before that.

- I am aware of die bombing, which is why I literally read every caption submitted. I still take funny votes into account, but I look through all the captions to make sure nothing gets buried. So if you are die-bombing, it’s pointless. If you complain about die-bombing in your caption, it’s even more pointless.

- The caption contest is not a forum. While it may feel unregulated, you’ll notice that the users who insult or attack one another on the caption contest page don’t often win the contest. Keep it civil and have fun, dammit.

Any chance of a runner-up/honorable mention prize? Keychain?

Due to a lack of regulation combined with judging that made the gymnastics debacle almost acceptable, I have boycotted your contest and taken my captioning skills to places less crooked than a russian butcher shop/whorehouse. The present system is not to my liking because a: there are more tards competing in that contest than there were competing for gottadimes special ed class president and B: I had a caption that was voted highest among said corkyites and yet it was tossed aside only to be defeated by some half ass title most likely contributed by one of your relatives and or sexual partners. I thank you for the update but fuck me once, I pay you, fuck me twice and I know you’ve got herpes.

Does this mean I get a keychain now?

Thanks for finally putting a fa… cool picture, to what was seemingly a mythological person doing a mythological job. 52 t-shirts a year is a little more affordable than 365 of em’ eh?

That’s it! After 2 months of vacation, I’m getting back in the caption contest mix!

You could give the daily winners some credit by adding “caption winner” on their profile under “Reasons I rock” or where ever the # most talkitive ect thing is located. That way it really does increase their rep as a whity user! Thanks for your hard work Caption Hero!

If this is not a good idea, I don’t know what is… someone be sure to tell me if it is in fact a good idea because I once bought a Flowbee to trim my man hairs. Not a good idea.

IF TIS THE DUDE THAT READS ALL CAPTIONS, AND PICKS THEN YOUR JUST THE MAN I WANNA TALK TO… 1ST. I WON A TEE BEFOR Y’ALL STARTED THE WEEKLY CONTEST. NEVER HEARD FROM YA, AND EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE CHANGED THE RULES I STILL DESERVE MY SHIRT. 2. THE PICTURES LATELY IN MOST SENSE (NOT ALL) HAVENT BEEN VERY FUNNY. I WROTE A BLOG THIS WEEK ABOUT CAPTION PICTURES WHERE I GAVE MY SELF HALF AN HOUR TO DOWN LOAD AS MANY FUNNY PHOTOS THAT I COULD. I DID SET SOME GUIDLINES. NO PIC SHOULD BE OVER INSULTING, DID NOT ATTACK A STYLE OR PICK OF ANYONES CHOSEN LIFE STYLES, AND WOULD FIT INTO A PG 13 FORMAT. I DOWNLOADED 56. THEN PICKED A CROSS REFERENCE OF TEN OR TWELVE AND POSTED THEM TO THE BLOG. GOT A LOT OF GOOD CAPTIONS BACK FROM THE READERS. 56 IN A HALF HOUR, THIS SHOWS THAT IT DOSENT TAKE HALF OF SOMEONES DAY TO FIND ONE. ALSO SITE MARKS ARE ON A LOT OF THE PICS AND IT IS OBVIOUS THAT MOST OF YOUR CHOICES COME FROM ONLY TWO DIFFERENT SITES. ALSO, LOOK BACK OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS AND LOOK FOR YOURSELF HOW MANY DOGS HAVE BEEN USED, NOT TO MENTION CATS, MONKEYS OR CEPHLAPODS. WHY NOT FIND SOME POLITICAL HUMOR, THERES PLENTY OF THAT RIGHT NOW. HEY IF YOU WANT TAKE A LOOK AT MINE AND FEEL FREE TO USE THEM.OR, JUST CALL ME AND I’LL FIND THE PICS FOR YOU, I HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO FIND YOU SOME. IM HAPPY TO HELP ANY WAY I CAN.
