Hello Captioneers.

Tis I, the dude who reads all your captions every day. I just wanted to take an opportunity to clarify some things and open the floor for suggestions on how to improve the Caption Contest. Here are some clarifications:

- We give out one t-shirt (or hat) a week to the caption contest winner who we feel had the best/most original caption for that week. We will soon have a list of these winners on the Caption Contest page, so everyone will be able to keep track. Makeitdrizzle was last week’s winner, WarpedCorp won the week before that.

- I am aware of die bombing, which is why I literally read every caption submitted. I still take funny votes into account, but I look through all the captions to make sure nothing gets buried. So if you are die-bombing, it’s pointless. If you complain about die-bombing in your caption, it’s even more pointless.

- The caption contest is not a forum. While it may feel unregulated, you’ll notice that the users who insult or attack one another on the caption contest page don’t often win the contest. Keep it civil and have fun, dammit.
